Whether you are looking for accommodation (tip for hotels in Dubai) or you are planning trips, it is good to know a little bit, where everything in Dubai is. Once you will now this, you will avoid travelling from one end of Dubai to the other.
Probably the most famous district of Dubai – Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain, etc.
Jumeirah is famous for its beaches and hotels and some nice buildings around the beaches. You will find several beautiful beaches, you can walk to the Dubai Marina and go from the beginning of Jumeirah Beach to Kait Beach, you can see Burj al Arab. It is possible to walk at least 7 kilometers along the beaches.
The most modern part of Dubai. You can ride here directly by marina or ride a cruise ship. In the evening, everything shines and has its charm to sit here and watch yachts, shining skyscrapers.
Historic Dubai – West Side of Dubai Creek. The Dubai Creek bay separates Bur Dubai from Deira. There is, for example, Zabeel Park or Goldsouk, through which you can visit the Deira part. Between Deira and Bur Dubai are the favorite Abra boats, for 1 AED you can get to the other bank.
I have described Deira several times here. For me, that’s the other face of Dubai. There are marketplaces, shops and restaurants full of people from different corners of the world. In the evening it has its own atmosphere. In some parts of Deira, you can find the opposite part of the luxurious districts of Dubai. For example, people are repairing shoes on the street, selling cheap food, grilling chickens on the streets…
The part of Dubai where predominate people from India, the Philippines and Bangladesh. They have here a lot of shops and restaurants.
The district where you will find cheaper restaurants, otherwise it is mainly a residential area.
A newer district with an artificial forest in the desert. There is, for example, the City Center Mirdiff shopping center or Abaya Mall, where you can find Arabic fashion shops.
Not very interesting neighborhood full of Chinese.
This district has built a second artificial palm island.
Emirates Hills a Arabian Ranches
Luxury neighborhood in Dubai, expensive living, golf club.
If you are planning a holiday, I recommend you to look at 2 places
If you want to be right by the sea and close to the main center, hotels on Jumeirah beach are a great choice. If you want to choose from cheaper hotels and enjoy evenings in the streets full of blinking shops, hotels in Deira are a good choice. Overall, Deira is a cheaper neighborhood, whether I appreciate restaurants, hotels or shops. If you are near the metro, you will be in close distance to the main metro.
By the way, here you can find a tip for affordable and good hotels in Dubai.
If you want to see Dubai, I would definitely recommend you to go through Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, where you can also take the metro or taxi. Then Dubai Marina, from where you can easily walk to Jumeirah Beach and then go to Burj al Arab. Then you can refresh yourself and head out to Deira, go through the Gold Souk, ride the Abra boat. I gave you that tip for one day, where you can see the modern part of Dubai, the old part of Dubai, ride through the Dubai Creek and see a market with gold, sea and nice beaches.
