La Mer in Dubai, it is a beach with lots of possibilities. If you do not like just lying on a sun lounger, La Mer is a great choice for you.
There is a 2.5km long beach between the artificial islands of Pearl Jumeraih and Jumeraih Bay. You will find more than 100 shops, restaurants, cafes and activities. Children can have a fun on the giant Hawa Hawa trampoline (Japanese style trampoline). Very popular is also a huge rocking net above the water, playground and climbing frames for the smallest.
The surroundings are nice, so modern and colorful – there are nice fountains, shops, several sport fields, a skate park, water activities, boats and pedal boats, water attractions, etc. You can stay here until the very evening when it has a magic in the form of nice bars and plenty of lights.
The beach is public and there are classical facilities such as toilets, dressing rooms, security and WiFi zone, which is working better then on Jumeraih beach.
Beach service is possible, the deckchair is for 180 AED. It is not the cheapest one, but on the other hand, if you want to be on the beach all day, it is worth it and you do not even have to wear your own towels and nothing else to solve.
There is also an aqua park and there are other activities like a cinema, hotels and others.
In my opinion, it is worth to experience Jumeraih beach, just because of the scycrapers behind you and evening marine. On the other hand, I liked more Kait Beach and beaches around Burj al Arab where there were fewer people. A La Mer beach come to me personally a bit better.
You can also take a look at the other beaches in Dubai.
Otherwise, if you want to save a money you can visit beaches on foot from different places. In any case, I recommend you to travel from the metro of Emirate Towers, World Trade Centre, Al Jafiliya and use Taxi for short distance.
